It's Monday, How has your day been? Mine has been a little slow but good. I applied for a new position at my current job. Hopefully I hear back from them soon.
That's not why I'm writing though. I've been stuck listening to love songs most of the day. For some reason my ipod insists on playing only love songs. I know there are many other genres on my little device, so why is it playing girly, mooshy, love songs? Finally I couldn't take it and hit the forward button a few times without paying attention. In hopes of something different would play and I got my wish. One of my new favorite YouTube songs played.
OH JEFFEREY
This is my other favorite song from him, but I haven't downloaded it yet.
I'M READING A BOOK
Thank you Julian Smith for making my day better with your songs. Also thank you to JW for making me smile today.
Last weekend I went to CSU East Bay for their Spring Mayhem. My friend Becca invited me to go because T Mills was performing. Now, I am not a huge fan of T Mills, but I do like some of his music. He seemed really tall, then again I am only 5'2". It was cute to see him interact with his fans, especially the older ladies. He was polite and remembered a lot of his regular concert goers. he seemed humble and sweet. I'm not one to follow musicians from concert to concert. I'm not a groupie, but there were a lot of ladies there who had been following him to all the local events. I think that's crazy. Why would you want to follow a musician around and take pictures with them at each event? I enjoy good music and love going to festivals and concerts, I also like to meet and talk to the artists, but I just don't get the whole fan girling with the running, screaming, and fighting over a person of celebrity status. Everyone stands in line and gets to say hi and take a pic, WHY do you have to be first? WHY do you have to tell everyone how many times you have seen the artist in concert or "met" them as if it makes you better and higher in the fan girl food chain? WHY do you have to push, shove, hit, and kick to get as close as possible, is this person going to heal you with their special musical powers? I am a huge fan of some musicians and would love to have the opportunity to meet them, but I would never chase them or fight for their attention. They are just people who happen to have a great talent. It's nice taking pictures with people you admire, but I would rather be able to have a conversation with them. Not a "HI remember me, I go to allll your shows, omg I love you, can I have your baby?" Okay, not ALL fan girls are that bad, but most are. It's gross. This show wasn't even that bad, just a few crazy fan girls. The fangirling is part of the reason I don't like being in front at huge concerts.
At Spring Mayhem there were a few local bands (as in, California bands), and that's where I get excited. I love to support unsigned artists far more than celebrities. Though T Mills gave a great performance, and I truly enjoyed his show. I enjoyed the unsigned bands much more. I also prefer the intimate performance settings to huge concert crowds. The bands were great and the crowd loved them, well except for one. There was another rapper, can't remember his name, that I felt the T Mills fan girls didn't give him enough respect. He did well and was busting his ass on stage. The girls didn't care because he wasn't T Mills. Much respect to that guy and I hope he gets where he wants to go in life. The other bands included The Cires (pronounced like Cyrus), The Big Bang, Los Rakas, Lungs and Limbs, Radical Something, DLRN, Eric Billinger, and one or two more that I can't recall the names. All were fan-freakin-tastic and I would see them all again, if I can. I have nothing but love and respect for all the performers of Spring Mayhem. Over all I had a great time. I love live music and enjoy people watching. So it was a win/win for me. YAY! Let me share some photos with you.
Note: photos not in order.
They're already waiting front and center.

As I am writing this entry, I start to think about any possible celebrities I would fan girl over and love to meet. While I think about it I realize I am such a geek. Most people I would gush over are in some way nerdy or super smart. Well I'm not 100 % sure about a few. So lets list these people I would fan girl over, maybe... Note: not just musicians in the list
Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit (He's my Rock Star crush)
Scarlet Johansson
Nikola Tesla
Wil Wheaton
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Mark Twain
Elvis
Jennifer Lawrence (she loves food)
Robert Downey Jr.
I know what you are thinking. I've been single three years and I'm just bitter and jealous of all the ladies getting gifts on Valentine's Day.
NOPE! WRONG!
I don't really HATE Valentine's Day. I just don't see the point in it. Now, I'm not saying I wouldn't be grateful for gifts and attention on that day. To me, it's just another day. Why do we need a special day to tell someone we care and shower them with gifts? Personally it would mean a lot more to me if I got flowers on any random day, just because. By the way I dislike red roses. The are so overrated. Give me some sunflowers, dahlias, or how about some random ass wildflowers you picked before you came to see me. I love chocolate just like most ladies, but why wait to have some. I'll eat it any day of the year. Actually, I buy that stuff weekly. Bring me beer, whiskey & coke, and maybe a pizza instead.
The idea of women comparing, competing and crying over what their men got them or didn't get them is just sad. Appreciate their efforts for crying out loud. And men, you make me laugh when you go above and beyond with gifts hoping to get whatever sexual desire she likes to hold out on. Ladies don't hold out on sex for gifts. That's awful. Give the guy a blow job or anal. If you really don't like it, don't use it as a way to get a gift you want only to fake that you're enjoy the sexual treat. It can ruin the moment.
I'm the type of person that does not wait for a special occasion to show you I care, give you extra super duper affection, and/or give you a gift. It will happen when it pops in my head. If I buy you a gift, it's just because it made me think of you. There are only two special days I feel it is important for me to give someone extra attention and gifts: Birthday and Anniversary. All other Holidays are optional and open for discussion.
Now IF, I ever date a man who enjoys celebrating any Holiday, I will be down to participate. Just don't make it a big deal if you don't like the Valentine's day. Talking about how much you hate it and don't want to participate over and over again is like a slap in the face. Hoping I agree so you don't have to spend money is just rude. How hard is it to kindly ask my opinion of the darn Holiday?
Okay, so some of you are thinking, what about Saint Patrick's Day, Mardi Gras, Cinco De Mayo and any other holiday you get to indulge in drunken stupidness? Like I said, They are open for discussion. As above, I always welcome beer as a gift any day of the week and ALL Holidays.
By the way Singles Awareness Day is Saturday February 15 and Steak and Blow Job Day is March 14. Do not wait until March 14th to give your man a blow job or steak. At the bare minimum that should be once a week.
So, if you want to be my Anti-Valentine, bring me some beer. Or you could bring me beer just because, which is way better.
xoxo,
Lisa
P.S. I will end this silly entry with a song. A song that I adore and I sing along to the Joan Osborne version all the time.
This week went by fast, at least it feels that way for me. I feel as if nothing was accomplished. I haven't had a chance to work on a project all week. I haven't been able to clean my house the way I like it, and I need to do laundry. GAH! Tomorrow is going to be busy. I did sleep in today, which is why nothing got done. I think I needed that extra sleep because I feel more energetic. It could be that I masturbated twice today too. I haven't done that in a while. I guess I needed that too, ha ha.
There is less than a week left in this month. I will be changing to a new 30 Day Challenge. February is my sewing challenge. I will work on a variety of sewing projects every day. I am thinking thirty minutes to an hour a day should be good. I will go into more detail later in the week.
So lets get on with my boring photos...
Day 20/365: Making lists & plans for future blogs. Also planning out my sewing projects so I can complete them in time.
Day 21 of 30/365: I wore my favorite shirt to school today.
Day 22 of 30/365: Chomping on some yummy french bread I bought at Safeway. I ate the whole thing and even wrote a blog about it.
Day 23 of 30/365: Just a little bored.
Day 24 of 30/365: Ignoring all the crazies on the bus again. Today some guy smelled like urine & kept trying to talk to everyone.
Day 25 of 30/365: Super bored & tired. I couldn't sleep but I couldn't mentally function. Ugh, I hate those nights.
Day 26 of 30/365: My hair is having issues. I think it's time to get a trim & maybe some bangs.
I am quietly sitting in my room with the lights out. I am quietly listening to Jason Mraz, a variety of songs from him. Just listening, quietly. Listening to the words as he speaks to my decaying heart & restless mind. Hoping it will wake me up out of this funk. Hoping I can hear through the music what my heart & mind is trying to tell me. Because right now, I'm just not all that happy, and I want to be.
This is a mini blog, I'm tired of reading, but not yet tired enough to sleep.
.1 My lovely sunburn may have caused damage to my Jack Skellington tattoo. As I look at the sunburn on my arm I can see spots where the tattoo has become light. It's like there are tiny blisters, so I will wait and see what the damage is. I may just have the work redone and updated. The tattoo isn't complete anyhow.
.2 This is not a complaint really, okay maybe a little one, but what is up with guys thinking they can message you " you are so beautiful/ Wow I love your eyes/ You are so sexy, we should meet. heres my number." WTF, really? I don't know you and this is the first time you have messaged me. Of course Call Me Maybe now makes sense, though Timothy DeLaGhettos version could be more fitting. I'll put his video at the bottom. Crazy creepers I tell ya. Here is one of the worst I've gotten so far: How are you? I found your profile quite interesting & you very sexy! :) Would like to get to know you more. Am married, but very open minded & fun loving. Are you? I live in Oakland. Am not on here for a hook up or a one night stand. Would love to get to know you more. Are you open to being friends & explore each other just casually if there's mutual attraction & chemistry, FWB..no strings attached affair/relationship, or whatever you call it? ;)
Why do people think this is okay? I just don't get it. I'm not all that and I know it. So they must think giving the fat/ugly chicks compliments will get them booty. Not this fat ugly chick. I'll pass guys.
.3 A friend of mine sent me a Facebook link about blogging. Unfortunately I just turned too old for the job. If you would like to try it out and are between the ages of 16-34 here is the Link to Nichols Research (food blogs) Good luck!
And here is the awesome video by Timothy deLaGhetto (LOVE HIM). Everytime I go to the store I now sing " where the hoes at where the hohos at" hahaha Damn I want some hohos now.
Also like his Facebook page: Traphik and the lovely lady in the video: LUX
Today's challenge is to listen to a song that mimics nature. In my search for such a song I came across a youtube channel by Okanokumo. This may not be mimicking nature, but the videos are very relaxing and great for meditation or relaxing baths. This youtube channel is well worth checking out. Below is one of the meditation videos. It's close enough because I couldn't find anything close to sounding like nature.
I'm supposed to be doing this daily, but my kids have been sick and then we got super busy. GAH, so glad this month is almost over.
Day 25: Listen to a holiday related song
I actually love this song and play the hell out of it every year.
Day 26: Listen to a song you hate
This song was okay at first, and I mean just okay. Then some weird guy i went on a blind date with decided it would be sweet to dedicate this damn song to me on Kat Country 103. It just so happens that my mom and sisters were also listening ( we were cleaning house) and they laughed their asses off. I was so pissed and not at my family, but at this guy being all mushy on the radio like that, bleh.
Day 27: Listen to an artist that starts with the letter of your first pets name. Roscoe was my doggies name.
Day 22: Listen to a song somebody under the age of 10 recommends:
Justin Beiber: Boyfriend. I can't say I'm a fan, but I do respect him & his work. This performance at the Billboard Awards was pretty good. This is also the song my mini me is dancing to with her Hip Hop Dance class. What got me liking any of his songs is when i saw the Jollibee dancing video. Now every time I hear Baby I imagine the Jollibee Mascot dancing.
GO JOLLIBEE GO GO !!
Day 23: Listen to a song somebody over the age of 50 recommends:
Brand new key, pair of roller skates by Melanie. I chose this video cause I love the fact it is a home made music video from the 70s.
i chose the Piano Guys. If you haven't listened to their awesome versions of songs then you are seriously missing out. I hope they do Lord of the Rings soon.
Ricky Mena has done it again. A new song posted today. It's a beautiful song that will hit you to the core. This one seriously needs to be on the radio NOW! It's just that great.
Song Challenge:Recommend a great song to someone you hate.
Yeah well I don't really HATE anyone. There are people out there I dislike, but not HATE. Hate is such a harsh word. I am trying to better myself as a person and hating others will not help me on that journey. So my song choice will be Good Morning, because It's morning and I know I have haters, no matter what though I will not lower myself to their level. I LOVE YOU Haters.
Blog Challenge: Something that never fails to make you feel better.
Oh that is so easy. Just look above. MUSIC always makes me feel better. When I'm angry i listen to song that make me want to scream and a sing along. When I'm sad or happy I listen to happy pop songs and by the end of the 3rd song I am all good. When i want a good cry I listen to sad love songs or break up songs. When I want to relax I listen to classical or opera. Music makes everything better.
Day 14- Watch music video that came out the year you were born.
Elton John is AWESOME!
Day 15- Create an idea for a music video for your favorite song.
I have no idea how to create an idea for a music video. i swear all my creative energy was sucked out of me by my mini me when I was making her, molding her into a mini human. She absorbed my artistic youth while she grew in my belly. Day 16- Listen to a mash-up of two songs you never heard of.
I love Bollywood!!
Day 17- Listen to any song.
Arden Cho has a lovely voice. Please follow her HERE on youtube
Day 18- Try to go all day without hearing any music.
I didn't even try. My ringtone is a weird beeping noise and I didn't really have time to listen to the radio or Itunes. So woo hoo. I even sorta cheated and had all the songs above picked out last week so all I would have to do is post them. Aww yeah I win!! hahahaha
Charlotte Church- Call My Name. Yeah you remember her, she used to sing Opera/ Classical style music. Now she's a pop star. I guess. I still love her though.
I have more than one favorite so I will pick a song from each.
Rock/metal/Nu metal (whatever you want to call it)
Limp Bizkits Gold Cobra Album happens to be one of my favorite. Then again I haven't heard a song from them I don't like. Plus Fred Durst is so sexy. I would love to spend a day with him :)
Rap
Tupac was a great rapper, business man, and philosopher. R.I.P.
80's
Madonna was a huge influence on me growing up. Her ' I don't give a fuck what others think' attitude help mold me into the crazy chick I am today.
30 day music challenge day 9: Listen to a song from a genre you hate.
I cannot think of a genre that I HATE. So instead of playing music i'm supposed to hate, I will share some songs that I like from a few local musicians.
Song #1 J-Ward (from Many Different Concepts) - No Vacancies
You can find music from Many Different Concepts HERE and go LIKE J-Wards page on Facebook.
Song #2 DEADDOWNHERE - There's Science in the Escape
